I have had good luck in the past at Bearing Belt & Chain in Las Vegas...Been a long time though.. They have a web site now... www.bearing.com I think it is...

McMaster has cheaper bearings if you look on page 1197 in the catalog
which shows "flanged ball bearings" for 5/8" shaft for $4.37, while
their 1/2" bearings are $10.50!!!   So, either use a 5/8" shaft or use a
1/2" shaft with a bronze bushing to fit into the 5/8" or 3/4" bearing.

Note, to keep the cost down, you can also use bronze bushings for the
road wheels, since they don't see as much stress as the drive train.
That's what I did in the latest refit of the Tiger-1.
