Okay, here's what I've got to offer.

My parents own and operate the Coxsackie Antique Center (www.coxsackie.com)
in Coxsackie, NY, 10 miles north of Athens, NY. (If you were coming to
Athens, chances are you'd pass through Coxsackie anyway.) They built a new
building two years ago, and at this very moment expanding the building to
include a Convention Center. The plan is to have the concrete for the
foundation poured some time this week, and the building erected in May, and
open for business in June. Naturally, everything will get behind schedule,
but as long as its only a month or so, we're tentatively lined up for the
first crack at the convention center in late August. (I'm going on
vacation in mid-July and not coming back until mid-August, so that leaves
late August.)

My father is tickled pink over the idea of a paintball tank convention. He
wants to call in the media and the whole nine yards. How do you all feel
about total strangers looking over your tanks? Probably ought to keep them
away from the battlefield (assuming this is a battle and not just a BS
session).

The Center is easy to find - get off the NYS Thruway at 21B, turn south, go
1.3 miles, and it's on the left. There are restaurants right down the road
a mile or so, and a hotel right next to the Thruway exit. There is a huge
field out back, but it's a clear shot to the Thruway so I don't know if a
paintball battle should take place there. But like Frank said, there are
fields everywhere. I'll try to find one near the center (again assuming
this is a battle and not just a BS session).

Unfortunately, I doubt that I'll be able to afford steak and lobster, but I
could spring for a keg of beer. My wife used to run a concession stand at
my father's auction (since defunct) so we've got a hot-dog machine and a
HUGE coffee pot.

So there is my proposal. What do you all think?

Bill

P.S. Speaking of finding a field, what should I be looking for?
