My son and I our looking for a club in Northern California to check out the 1/6 scale tank combat scene. I have been involved with R/C for 25 or so years, mainly racing cars & boats and a little flying, my son & I still race R/C Hydroplanes.
I have been building scale models since I was a kid, my military modeling has mainly been infantry and navy from the Vietnam era and WW II, specifically the Pacific Theater. Armor is fairly new to me, but I enjoy the research as much as the modeling.
More recently I competed in Battlebots before they went belly-up as well as other combat robot events. I also used to play paintball with my oldest son, so I guess R/C tank combat would be a natural extension of many of my hobbies!
After browsing many of the websites, we will probably want to start with a couple of Motorworks M5 Stuart Tank's for conversion to paintball.
Any help with contacts and upcoming events in Nor Cal would be greatly appreciated.
