Just a quick note to let you know that I haven't fallen off the edge of the
world, and neither have I given up on building a Mk V*! I've been busy
playing with my new LATHE!!! and building a few necessary contraptions to
complement it.
I have also been hard at play building a paintball gun from scratch. It's
not ready to fire yet, but it's getting there. I've added a page to my
site about it, if you want to check it out.

I still need to drill the air channels into it, and also drill the
"whatchamacallit hole" where the paintballs go in. Oh yes, I also have to
build a small circuit board to control the valve. That ought to be pretty
easy.
That Javelin video on the Anvilus site is amazing! I've seen still
pictures of that test somewhere before, I'll try to find the URL. If you
zoom way in on the explosion, you can see a little dot rise into the air
above it - that is the turret of the tank. In the close-up of the
explosion, right near the end, a bunch of dirt flies into the image from
the right - that is from the turret hitting the ground and burying
itself. The engine was found some 300 feet away! Most of the destruction,
I believe, came from the ammo load of the tank - it was a "full up" test.
Boy, what a waste of tank. If they didn't want it, I would have been GLAD
to give it a home!
I wish I could have made the Expo. Maybe next year. Drink a few beers for
me, guys!
