Thanks for the info Joe! I think it would probably work. Yes, pls send me
the dims to flier-at-sbcglobal.net.

I'm gonna play with the onboard electronics some in the meantime. Be nice
to have a schematic but there's little chance of that right now. I plan to
install a regular radio but I'd love to interface to the existing drive
including the sound effects since they're actually pretty cool. You get the
engine sounds (start, idle, turning, full speed) and of course you've got MG
and maingun firing sounds...

Thanks again,

Ted

I can send you a side view of the Splatmatic XJ40
0.40 caliber marker with rough dimensions if you
wish. It is a 199K MS-Word file, so I did not send
it to the entire list.

The XJ40 is used on Fred Simms Quadricycle #SV003
http://www.rctankcombat.com/support-vehicles/SV003/
and featured in the conversion article at
http://www.rctankcombat.com/articles/gun-assembly/

This marker is 1 inch thick. It feeds well when upright or
when laying on its left side because the feed tube is angled
45 degrees to the right. (I think that the photos in the
How-To conversion article are reversed and show the
tube angled to the left.) Based on your photos, you
will probably need to mount the marker laying on its
side.

You can easily fire the XJ40 with a standard servo. One of the
small CO2 cartridges fires about 100 rounds. An on-line
review is available at
http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1363/

You can purchase it for $39.95 from Action Village
www.actionvillage.com and can occasionally find a
bargain on Ebay.

Hope this helps,
Joe
