I generally adhere to the rules - particularly the one
that bans 7.62 mm projectiles with full metal jacket.
Tanks shorter than 36 inches are OK, but only if they
are 1/6 scale. According to Bill John's prior calculations,
a legal 1/6 scale "Stuart" could range from about 30 to 33
inches long. (A legal 1/6 scale French FT-17 from the Great
War would only be 27 inches long.)
I have not seen any of these Stuarts in our Wal-Marts or on
Wal-Mart's national website. However, remember that I live
in Appalachia.
I assumed that these Stuarts are the same size as Will
Montgomery's #T003 and Lief Goodson's #T009. Both of
these tanks were made by American Soldier. They even
have the same markings on the front hull (3 delta 83R E-15)
and rear fenders (USA 3047999) as the new Stuarts.
The Ebay ads now say that the boxes are 31 x 18 x 18 inches.
I have asked one of the Ebay sellers to actually measure the
tank itself.
After inspecting Will's photos and Lief's photos, I retract my
earlier statement. A very clever fellow (hint - Steve Tyng) might
be able to fit a GTVe marker on its side into the turret with an
articulated tray gravity magazine. (Unfortunately, Steve would
never consider working on a PLASTIC tank.) I would still worry
about the weight and recoil of the gun, as well as weight and
size of a 4 oz CO2 cylinder.
Will and Lief,
What size are your Stuarts, and what do you think about mounting
a 0.68 marker in the turret?
