Greetings Orrill and All,
Yeah, those chain guns can sure return the same "Swiss cheese"
courtesy to just about anything else that rolls or clanks down the
road. Of course a trooper with a shoulder fired rocket can do about the
same and only wearing a flak vest. I suppose everything is relative
these days. --LOL
I understand that they are now experimenting with sandwiching a layer
of depleted plutonium in the armor at strategic locals on the Abrams
just to try and save it from those "Tough and Mean little cans." --LOL

Dan, Tough mean little cans is a good way to describe a L.A.V. Too bad
a 50 cal can turn one into Swiss cheese. They don't call then Light
Armored Vehicles for nothing. They are a blast to drive and destroy
stuff with the 25mm chain gun. I and a couple other LAV'ers used to
joke about getting a LAV-L (logistics) and turning the cargo
compartment into a giant hot tub. While I was in, they never got a main
gun variant to work, seems every time they fired the 105mm it cracked
the test vehicle in half.
