The Wespe was self-propelled artillery, armed with a 105mm Howitzer, it
wasnt an assault-gun like the Sturmgeschutz.

In real life, not really well.  I am sure it was able to take some hits
(37mm 
and below) but most shells from tanks would go through it at any decent 
range.  It was not a great thing to be hit anywhere in.  It was used as an 
ambush tank destroyer for the most part and used in great numbers to 
concentrate fire, and was not meant to deal one on one with a tank.
